Dante
The teenage boy who is first seen awaiting his A-level results, anxious but looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead of him. However, after the return of Melanie, someone he has practically forgotten about, and the discovery of his child’s existence, he must sacrifice that quaint future and take on the terribly weighty responsibility of rearing a child he never even intended to take on.
Dante serves to be a representation of all of the single fathers, especially those with youth, that are often looked down upon or forgotten. He exists to be a subject that must conform to his new scenario, one wherein his every action is scrutinised and near publicised to the critical eyes of the public.
