-Boys Don't Cry-

Melanie

The young mother of Emma who dumps her upon Dante, the boy she slept with at a party some time ago. Though we are initially critical of her, events in the book educate us on the subject that she shouldn’t be criticised so heavily for her actions as she was merely escaping the same pain and struggle that Dante was plagued with.

She exists as an example of why one shouldn’t judge any book by its cover and how we, as people, are oftentimes too quick to pick sides and make enemies.
