-Pride and Prejudice-

Lady Catherine De Bourgh

Darcy’s aunt and a noblewoman who believes that her upper-class status deems her an absolute authority on almost any matter, no matter how mundane or trivially simple. Her actions are always motivated by her pride and she constantly tries to rip Darcy from Elizabeth, offended by the concept of marriage between classes.

Quotes

“Upon my word,” said her ladyship, “you give your opinion very decidedly for so young a person. Pray, what is your age?”

“I should have known you were no better than the rest of them. You are only a man, you do not have the ability to control yourself, but she,” Lady Catherine nodded sagely, “she knew exactly what she was doing. Fluffing her feathers and shaking her tail for you! It was disgraceful!”

“I take no leave of you, Miss Bennet. I send no compliments to your

mother. You deserve no such attention. I am most seriously displeased.”
